To play the “definitive” version of Stunt Island, three steps are needed:

1. Get the original game, e.g. on GOG or Steam
2. (Optionally) download the “#3” patch from Stunt Island Central, copy it in the game directory, and run the executable in Dosbox
3. Download the “8x” patch, copy it in the game directory, and run the Windows or Linux executable (doing it for DOS would have taken longer)
4. Run STUNT1.exe for the patched version. There are also patched versions of MAKEONE and PLAYONE

Note: some antivirus software will incorrectly flag si-8x.exe as malware. It is a false positive – I would not put my name under a virus, after all. You can also examine the patch’s source code and build it on your machine.
