SMUGGLE Alert! A bunch of smugglers have hijacked a PT boat, and are headed at high speed from St. Andrew's Castle, their headquarters, out to open sea. Your mission: to intercept and destroy -- they've been warned. You can do it any way you like with your A-10 Thunderbolt -- missile, bomb, gun. Take off from the carrier near the bridge, and fire away: you're headed pretty much right for them. You'll be catapulted straight into the sky: immediately after you're airborne, pull the gear up and full throttle. No time to waste. And arm your weapon. But: the smugglers have intercepted your radio transmissions, and are taking evasive action. They'll twist and turn in a desperate attempt to escape you. And they'll try to bring you down, too: they have some pretty powerful weapons on St. Andrew's. You can watch them track *you* with CTRL-F4, and you in turn can track *them* with CTRL-F3. Or watch one of their near-miss missile shots with CTRL-F5. And because of recent cut-backs, you're limited to twenty shots. So don't hold down that trigger, especially with your gun. More than twenty: Nyah-nyah and off to the hospital (if you have hospital "on" with Alt-P). If they make it out, it's too bad for you. Kaboom, and you'll end up in the hospital again. It can be done, and to prove it, I've enclosed SMUGGLE.FLM (and for those who don't have SI, SMUGGLE.ALL as well). If you don't have SI, see the material in STUNTI.ZIP, FSFORUM library 5/Other Flight Sims, on how to do it. I must admit this isn't a particularly good job -- I wasted a lot of government bombs. You can do better. __________________________________________________________________ If you haven't done this before: 1. Be sure SMUGGLE.SET is in your /SETS subdirectory. 2. After entering Stunt Island, choose SET DESIGN and load SMUGGLE.SET. 3. FLY STUNT, Action, TAKE . . . . Get ready: you'll be flying. 4. If you like what you saw, save out the take (SMUGGLE#.TKE etc.) with PRINT FILM or THAT'S A WRAP. 5. Just view the SMUGGLE#.TKE file in the theatre, or, if you're especially pleased with your flying prowess, EDIT it into a film. [Apology to the purists: I have no idea whether or not the A-10 flies from carriers. Maybe this is a special case because of those cut-backs.] Jim Ross 70235,143
