It's WWI.  The Jerrys have an observation ballon up just over the line.
They've seen you coming and are cranking it down in a big hurry.  
There's no time to gain some altitude and dive in from above the
way you'd like so you're going to have to come at it level, 
dodging the ack-ack as you go.  The gunners are crack shots and will
track and auto-range you so don't even think about flying straight. 
If your worried about a fight from the observer; he'll bail if he even 
SMELLS smoke.

This director has a penchant for realism.  He didn't think ballons were 
sitting ducks.  Take too long and he'll call a cut.
